Curry Hammock photos

I stayed in site 15 & 17 last year and plan to return this fall. If anyone is in Curry Hammock I'd appreciate seeing photos or hearing a review of the improvements. Thanks.

RE: Storing the blue holding tank when traveling??

I built a wire mesh tray under the 2nd front section and between the frame rails so I can carry the blue tote, firewood, chairs, etc. it is about 60"x60"x12" and hinges down to load and up to travel totally out of the way. Lots of room and no lower that the sided of the camper. I have room for another the same size in the rear section, but have never built one there. If you park in a spot where you must put the hitch on the ground to level, make sure you unload first! This could be built as a slide-out joey-bed if you had more motivation.

RE: Shower Tent Question

CG's in the Smoky Mtns have no showers, only cold water & toilets. They prohibit portable showers and will ask you to take it down.

RE: Add MP3 input to GMC radio?

I installed this in an 01 Yukon. Very easy install - just plug in between the factory radio and remote cassette in the console. Got it at BestBuy - a returned unit was marked down to $79. Works great, sounds great, charges the iPod, cd controls on the stereo control the iPod.

RE: Aricards and routers~do they or don't they?

I used the KR-1 & KPC-650 with verizon for 2 years. I now use the Cradlepoint MBR1000 and the Novaatel 727USB with verizon. The both work great. I bought both from 3gstore.

RE: Chesapeake Bay tunnel/bridge question

We camped there for a week last summer and had a great time at Tom's Cove.

RE: Road to skywalk

We did not go to the skywalk, but did stay here for one night. It is on the same road. The road is easily passable without 4x4, but very dusty, bumpy and lots of washboards. I would not hesitate to drive the road, but don't expect smooth or pavement. Also watch out for hummers flying around blind curves and busses. Glad we had a rental.

RE: What's the secret-Florida state parks???

Keep trying. Many times I have tried to get a reservation and everything is full only to find what I wanted a week or so later. Probably due to cancellations. I actually have reservations again this year for Christmas.
Also, I think this may be how it works. There is an 11 month window, but if you want to book several days for a single stay you can book the entire stay when the first day is 11 months out, so by the time someone tries to book the days later in that week they are already booked, so it seems like nothing is ever available. Sometimes we have had better luck calling on the phone, but usually book online.
Both of these as well as Bahia Honda are nice and very popular and difficult to reserve.
good luck.

RE: Tampa FL - tent camping

I would love DeSoto, but I'm sure availability is the problem. Maybe a chance to get a walk-in site at the last minute.

Tampa FL - tent camping

I will be in Tampa FL between Christmas & New Years without my RV or a car. I would be interested in tent camping somewhere nice on or very near the beach and convenient to some bike trails for most of a week. I will have my 8 yr old boy and traveling very light, so a pool/play area would be nice, but not necessary if we are on the ocean. I could rent a car and travel some, but prefer to stay close this area.
Any ideas on good locations or what may be available this week?
Suggestions?
Thanks.
